For me, the rest is history. I have been blogging ever since.
So how can you starting blogging and how will it benefit your business?
How to start…
First, to get started you need a blogging platform. I recommend the Kalatu Blog. This platform provides you with everything you need to start and operate a first class blog, including premium templates, a ton of widgets, pre-written calls to action, blogging hacks, SEO and more.
If you can’t afford a premium blog like Kalatu, there are free options available such as Blogger and WordPress. The best advice I can give is to pick a platform and stick with it. I actually had 2 different blogs before I settled on Kalatu and it’s not easy to transfer your posts from one to the other without a lot of time and effort.
Once you pick your platform it’s time to start writing. I recommend picking a topic you are knowledgeable about and that fits with the overall theme of your business. Keep in mind, you will be using your blog to promote you and your business. If you are stuck, write something about yourself like why you are doing this or why you picked the business you are in. You will be surprised once you start typing how easily the words will flow onto the page.
Why you should blog…
Blogging serves several purposes. First, you can use your blog to brand yourself and establish yourself as an authority in your product or service line. By blogging consistently, your readers will soon see that you are someone to be trusted in your field. Also, by sharing your blog posts on social media, you can expand your overall reach and begin to build your authority there as well. Second, you can use your blog to build your list. By placing a lead capture page on your blog (see “3 Essential Tools For the Network Marketer“) you can begin to build a list of subscribers that you can mail to. Third, you can place other advertisements and special offers for your business on your blog. As readers visit your blog to view today’s article, they will see your other offers. Finally, using good SEO techniques on your blog can help you get visitors and make sales from potential customers searching the internet. I consider these to be bonus customers.
So now that you know how to start a blog and why you should have one, get out there and start writing.
